Establishment - Established in 2013, this university has been able to win the confidence of over 7000 students. Anyone i.e. Students, Professionals, People having Government Jobs, Entrepreneurs, House-wives or any other individual who wishes to pursue higher education while still continuing with what she/ he is doing. Government job people need to submit Department NOC.
Q8. What is the maximum age at which one can take admission in IDE Kalinga University?

To get admission in the programs under Institute of Distance Education, Kalinga University one should have the minimum qualification and eligibility criteria for particular programs as per defined by the University.

Q19. What are the features of Study Material?
High-quality Self Learning Material (SLM) is made available to students in the form of online digital format and printed books. Online digital SLM is included in the Course fee, hence student need not pay anything extra for the online digital SLM as it is uploaded in students login, so that they can log in anytime and from anywhere without any hassle.
Q20. Apart from SLM what other resources are available for the students?
Along with Self Learning Materials (SLM) the students will have access to the largest Online/Digital Library in Central India including National Digital Library (NDL), Developing Library Network (DELNET) and NPTEL.
Students will also be provided with Online Academic Assistance.
The National Digital library of India (NDLI) is a project under Ministry of Human Resource Development, India. The objective is to collect and collate metadata and provide full text index from several national and international digital libraries, as well as other relevant sources. It is a digital repository containing textbooks, articles, videos, audio books, lectures, simulations, fiction and all other kinds of learning media. The NDLI provides access to many books in English and various Indian languages.
DELNET has been established with the prime objective of promoting resource sharing among the libraries through the development of a network of libraries. It aims to collect, store, and disseminate information besides offering computerised services to users, to coordinate efforts for suitable collection development. DELNET maintains an online union catalogue of books available in its member-libraries. This union catalogue is continuously updated and is growing in size. It has created union lists of current periodicals in science and technology, social sciences and humanities. DELNET maintains a union catalogue of periodicals, which contains full holdings data of the libraries. The database has details of articles which can be searched under the title, author, compiler, name of the periodical and subject. A database of thesis and dissertations submitted to Indian Universities has been started, which covers various subjects. The database has 70 records and contains information about the newspapers including title, name of the editor, published from, E-mail address and also the Web address of the INTERNET edition if available on the WWW, the database of E-books has nearly 1613 records.
The National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) was initiated by seven Indian Institutes of Technology. The main goal of NPTEL Phase II was to build on the engineering and core science courses launched previously in NPTEL Phase I. An additional 600 web and video courses were created in all major branches of engineering, physical sciences at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels and management courses at the postgraduate level. Several improvements such as indexing of all video and web courses and keyword search were implemented.

Personal Contact Programme - PCP
Q23. What are the details of PCP?
PCP stands for Personal Contact Programme. IDE Kalinga University conducts PCP in following two modes
- • 15 days per semester
- • All Sundays in every semester
PCP will be conducted at Kalinga University Campus, Raipur. It is advisable for all students to attend PCP.

Q25. What are the Examination details?
Institute of Distance Education, Kalinga University conducts semester-wise examinations as prescribed by the UGC. The Semester-end Examinations for students will be conducted as per University Ordinance.
Q26. What document(s) do I have to carry for the Examination?
You need to carry your Admit Card provided by the University for the Examination.
Q27. How will I get my Admit Card?
Electronically-generated admit cards are issued to all eligible students appearing for the examination.
Q28. What is the scheme of Examination?
Both for theory and practical papers 70% weightage is given to Term End Examinations and 30% weightage is given to Internal Assessment.
Minimum Passing Percentage: The student must obtain at least 33% marks inclusive of Term End Examinations and Internal Assessment in each paper overall aggregate 36% Minimum is required.
Q29. What is the process of Internal Assessments?
Assignments are given to students on a regular basis for continuous assessment and feedback.
Institute of Distance Education, Kalinga University is committed to improving the quality of our distance education programs. Our main focus is to evaluate the students’ performance through a robust system. Students are expected to complete and submit internal assessments on a regular basis, which aids in a better understanding of subject modules.
Internal Assessment is for 30 Marks.
The assignments form a part of continuous evaluation and internal assessment. Marks will be awarded based on the assignments assessed by the University. The assignments are designed to motivate the students to develop the habit of continuous study of all the subjects throughout the semester.

Q30. What is the Evaluation Procedure?
The University conducts examinations at the end of each semester in a year.
Students can appear in the examinations either for specific subjects or for whole programs provided, that the maximum period of study prescribed for the relevant program has not elapsed.
Q31. Why is the University conducting Examinations semester-wise? Why the annual mode pattern is not followed?
Institute of Distance Education, Kalinga University conducts semester-wise examinations as prescribed by the UGC.
Q32. What are the steps to be followed in case of loss of Examination-related document(s) like Admit Card, etc?
No student is permitted to enter the Examination Centre without the Admit Card. In case of any last minute loss of Admit Card, students can request the Examination Centre to re-print the same.
Q33. What are the consequences of appearing in the Examination without the Admit Card?
Students are not permitted to appear in the Examination without the valid Admit Card. If it is found that the student has appeared in the examination without the Admit Card, then his/ her Result will be declared as NULL and VOID.
Q34. What is the duration for passing and improvement of scores of a programme?
Maximum duration for passing and improvement of scores of a programme shall be "Duration of the course + three years".
For example, for three year Bachelor’s Degree course, maximum duration shall be six years and for two years Master’s courses the maximum duration shall be five years.
Q35. What is Re-appear?
Re-appear means re-appearing in the failed/backlog paper(s). If the student is unable to clear the paper(s) in first attempt, he/she is required to fill up the re-sitting application in order to appear for the exams and clear the paper(s).
Q36. What if I fail to register for Re-appear in particular Exam Session?
In case you miss a chance to register for Re-appear in a particular Exam Session, the same can be done during the next Exam Session. However, this is applicable only for Exam Sessions during the maximum duration of your Programme.
Q37. Can reappear for a subject to improve my marks if I have already passed in it?
Yes.
Q38. What is Readmission?
A student is required to apply for Readmission when he/she is not in a position to complete the course within the maximum stipulated period.

Q40. What is the difference between Regular Education, Distance Education and Correspondence Education programmes?
In Regular Education, the regular classes are compulsory; the students have to attend the classes during their course durations. The students usually get internal marks on the basis of their class attendance. In regular education, the students can get help from the mentor if they have any problem. The classes are conducted on regular basis usually six days a week. Regular education is expensive than the other modes of education programmes. In case of regular education sometimes students need to invest their time and energy in the classroom to understand the concepts of their course.
In Distance Education, while the learners can have most of the advantages of campus mode interactive multimedia rich course content/online discussions/online support services/personal contact programme, yet they can plan their studies as per their own convenience and comfort. In distance education students need not spend much time and energy. In fact, students can clear the study concept with the tech–enabled model for teaching and learning. Yes, the University provides with accommodation when you come to the University to appear for PCP/Examinations on payment. The charges are:
- • Accommodation at Hostel – INR 500/- per day
- • Accommodation at Guest House – INR 1000/- per day
The above include charges for 3 meals a day.
Q54. After passing from Kalinga University, will my degree be valid for Government Jobs?
